Honesty Post

I know that a majority of my {ten or so} readers are moms of young children. My own children are 6.5, 5.5, and 2.5. This thing called parenting has been a riot so far. I have laughed more and smiled bigger in the last 7 years than in all 25 before having my first baby.

I love the hugs, the jokes, being needed.

But sometimes it is too much.

Sometimes I feeling like screaming 'NO ONE TALK TO ME FOR 3 HOURS!' And often these thoughts come to me between the hours of 4 and 6 pm.

Don't tell me I am the only momma that thinks such thoughts.

So, what do you do?

How do you cope?

Do you scream? Run? Drink? Pray?

I can honestly say I have done all of the above. The last one should be my first defense against the crazy time called the 'witching hour'. Unfortunately it isn't always.

Last night, as my sweet son chomped his raw broccoli directly behind my left shoulder I turned to my husband and said - "I need a walk." I changed clothes, put on my fast runners and left for 30 or so minutes.

And as I walked and breathed, I thought. I wondered, what do other people do? How do single moms get through the day? Many husbands travel during the week. Surely we all have a few unhealthy habits, but for the most part the folks I see seem sane.

So, what do YOU do? How do YOU cope?

And if you are not in a season of life where you have young 'uns under your feet, what do you remember your mom doing? Did you like it? Or what did you do back in the day?

Happy Tuesday~

I lock them in one room for Quiet Time...it's also usually when they make the biggest mess but at least I can make dinner in peace:)

Making them go to their room and not come out until you call them. Other than that - take a deep breath and remember that God loves them and some point you will remember why you love them too. Remember - we will always love our precious little ones. That doesn't mean we always have to like them. Remember - this too shall pass and it's building character - right?
