Yep, I have a thing for family togetherness. I love it! Well, I love it when we are all well rested and having fun. Who doesn't? I also like it if we are a little sick and snuggly. I don't exactly love it in the middle of the night or if it involves puke, but you know what I mean.
Saturday was a great day at the BrickHaus. I slept til 7 and then got up and made pumpkin pancakes. They were super good. I wish I had written down what I added to the Bisquick so that I might recreate them some day. Ah well.
Then we all put on warm clothes and headed to the back forty. Feet that is. To the fence in the backyard where the bamboo grows. Mr. Brick cut down four tall pieces and #1 and I stripped them. Then we brought them into the playroom {actually we cleaned the playroom first, quite an accomplishment!} and Daddy got busy assembling our tee pee. The kiddos and I used #1's Native American dictionary and decorated an old white sheet with lots of symbols. #2 made up his own symbols and #3 drove her siblings crazy by scribbling.
We assembled the tee pee and the kids had a blast inside. #3 turned into Buffalo Baby and kept charging the structure until I put her down for a nap. #1 and #2 wanted to spend the night in their tee pee but it got a little cold. Maybe later this week....
All in all it was a precious day and made me so thankful for my family. I hope these memories last in my children's hearts and minds for years to come.
What is a memory you have from Thanksgivings past?

Great idea! Your such a wonderful momma. Trust me the kids will remember (well maybe not O). The "tent" in the back yard and "forts" in the livingroom are some of my favorite memories that I can't wait to recreate for Caleb.
Cool Saturday, and good pictures! :D
I love that picture with Olivia in the background! So cute! We have a giant baby that likes to destroy lego structures here at our house, too! So, I can relate :)
So so fun!!!!!!
I pray this week will be so so relaxing and fun for you!!!!
You guys are too cool. Seriously. LOVE YOU.
What a great idea! You are so creative! Your kids will remember that for many years.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It brings back memories from my childhood...watching the Macy's parade, having lots of relatives over for dinner, the wonderful smells coming from my mother's kitchen...that about says it...Happy Thanksgiving to all!
#1 has a Native American Dictionary? (okay, how/why did you aquire that...I want a story! :-) ) AND she read Seuss at age 5, AND she enjoys watching shows in Spanish? Future Linguist in the home, perhaps? :-)
You are too creative! Love you!!! Can I be your kid too???
You are the coolest momma ever! Can I come be a kid at your house so I can learn how to be a cool mom too??? Seriously! You inspire me! And are you kidding me??? They will NEVER forget that Saturday... and will probably one day do the same thing with your grandkids! How cool is that?!?!?
