He's 3!

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday, dear DDman!

Happy Birthday to you!

Doesn't he look so grown in his Easter seersucker suit? Today he is 3 years old. My mother in law said he acts so grown sometimes we forget that he was just 2 yesterday. He tries hard to keep up with his big sister and does a very good job of it!

He loves to hop on one foot, count, color, ride his scooter, pull weeds and talk on the phone. He makes the funniest faces ever, like silly putty! Yet, he is also known to snuggle down, suck his thumb and hold on to his silky oh-so-tight. He is just a little guy, after all.

He has been sick on and off lately and it makes my heart sad to see him in pain. One of the liabilities in parenting is the depth of pain you can feel for your child. It is balanced by the pure joy that fills up the wells of pain, but it still hurts. Soon DD won't be my baby anymore. He will be the middle child. What will that mean for him? How will he adjust? How will I make sure he is still such a subject of my attention?

DDman is a wonderful boy, full of love and spunk and energy and hugs. He, too, is learning about God and His love for him. I am thankful he is part of the brickhaus and for all he teaches us each day. On this day and always I proclaim my huge love for DDman!

Happy Birthday, dude!

love, Momma

How on earth you managed all 3 kids' birthdays in ONE month is a mystery to me. Oh but what a month of celebrating! Can't wait to meet #3 :)

DD will do great as the 'middle man!' He has a lot of chrisma to share with baby number 3. Bean told me today that she thought number 3 will be a girl.
