SURPRISE!

I don't know where the husband Emmy's are held, but Mr. Brick wins Deceit-er of the Year. {somehow that sounds better than liar :) } He surprised me Saturday night with a wonderful birthday party filled with family, friends, a chocolate fountain and even a jumper house.

Early last week I caught whiff of something afoot but didn't let on that I knew. I am a hard one to trick, I am super nosy and have very little self control when I see file names that are suspicious! However, when my best friend and my own mother continued to bluff I thought all plans must have fallen through.

My lovely sis in law met me for a pedicure on Sat afternoon and then my husband said I should just meet him at his parents and we would do something fun for my big 3-0. Honestly, I was bummed that the surprise party wasn't happening. However, when I drove up to Fireant Ranch the drive was FILLED with cars and I could see the bounce house in the back yard.

Mr. Brick seriously out did himself. There were a billion burgers and hot dogs, chips and dips, cokes, tea and water bottles. My college roommates had driven in from Dallas and that totally threw me for a loop. Our good good friends from Houston also made the trek to help me celebrate. My parents were in on it from the beginning and my sister is a pretty good liar via telephone.

Needless to say I was VERY surprised. Any info I had gleaned from the one lone document I discovered was overturned and the party blew me away. Mr. Brick even had a huge photo mat for everyone to sign....you know I LOVED that!

As the night wore on we moved the tables back and danced with help from a smoke machine and a multicolored strobe light. I hear the disco ball came to an early demise before my arrival. I bounced in the jumper with my mom and sister and children - what an experience!

It was such fun. I sincerely appreciate all of the hard work and effort that went into this great gala to welcome my thirties.......It was just a terrific time. I was surrounded by great friends and felt loved on all night long.

Thank you so much!

Happy Tuesday~

I am so happy you had a wonderful birthday and such a great surprise. Sorry I couldn't be there for it. David's flight from Arizona just didn't allow me to do that. Being 30 isn't so bad - you just have to think about all the great things you have to look forward to.

All my love,

Laura
