Limited Engagement

We spent the weekend in San Antonio and had a blast. I remarked to my mother-in-law how much more fun things are when children are involved. We hastened to amend that statement to MOST things are more fun!

We drove thru a Safari Park on Saturday and saw wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, emus, longhorns, donkeys, llamas, peacocks, gazelles, ostriches and other animals I hadn't heard the name of before. #1 will quickly tell you that there is a a very good reason the literature strongly encourages you to drop the food on the ground for the animals to eat. We had an ostrich pecking at the passenger side window and a zebra with his head in the driver's side window. Very scary for a sweet 3 year old girl!

Saturday evening we ate dinner at a hoity-toity hotmex/coolbar(their description) restaurant on the River Walk. The children were tired, the air was sticky still and my sweet potato tacos deserve little more than a mere mention.

We came back up and played beauty shop in our room, #2 sporting the ever popular 2 pony tail look

This morning found us riding a boat, touring the Riverwalk. We saw some endangered birds.... the golden crested nightingales, which are also known for their trajectory excrement. Nice.

We checked out the Alamo and #1 and #2 both wanted to go inside. The line was way too long, so a return trip was promised. #1 is posing as a Texas Beauty, while #2 is one tough Texan!

After a yummy mexican lunch in Gruene we made it home safely. Thus our Spring Break is well on its way! What are you doing?

Spring break! How fun - and what cute pics:-) Ours is 2 weeks away and I can't wait. I think we're going to try and go to this spa type place in Palm Springs for 2 nights. I hear there are good outlet malls there.
Love you all - S.
